Home to almost 3,000 people, Newmilns is the oldest inland burgh in Ayrshire. Our third Food Festival will be held at Jamieson Park, Newmilns 15th September 2018 11am-5pm and the inaugural Newmilns Arts & Crafts Festival will be held on Sunday 16th September 2018 12 noon - 4pm.
Food Festival Entry fee: £3 under 12's go Free.
Arts & Crafts Entry fee: £1 under 12's go Free.
Public transport is available from Kilmarnock in the form of the Stagecoach West Scotland Service 1, serving Kilmarnock, Hurlford, Galston, Newmilns, Darvel and Priestland with buses running every 15 minutes from Kilmarnock bus station. Jamieson Park is located on the left as you enter the village, just after the fire station and primary school (1st stop) coming in from Galston way and last stop in Newmilns if you are coming from Darvel.
By Free Shuttle Bus
We are offering free shuttle bus services to take those from around Galston, Newmilns and Darvel to the food festival. If you are driving by car to the festival, park at the Loudoun Castle Car Park and you will be taken to Newmilns via our shuttle bus.
We have 3 shuttle buses in total, one with disability access that will be doing a constant shuttle between the car park at Loudoun Academy Car Park, The Cross Bus stop in front of Brownings in Galston, drop off at Primary school for Newmilns Food Festival, then McConnells, Darvel, Newmilns Cross and then drop off at Newmilns Food Festival and back on to Loudoun Castle. Buses will start at 10:45am.
Take the train to Kilmarnock and make your way to Kilmarnock Bus Station which is less than 5 minutes walk, then take the Darvel bus, stopping off at Newmilns (1st stop).
Parking will be available at Loudoun Academy Car Park with courtesy buses running every 15 minutes to take you to Jamieson Park or return from Jamieson Park to the car park. (See above shuttle bus information)
As parking in Newmilns will be restricted for the event, we would ask visitors to please either use public transport, the main car park at Loudoun Academy Car Park or walk to the event.
Disabled car park spaces (for disabled badge holders) will be available at Jamieson Park, next to the food festival site. Follow the signs when you arrive in Newmilns for Disabled Parking.
There will be hard standing at Jamieson Park for wheelchair access and the marquees will be floored to allow wheelchairs inside the marquees. If you need further information, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Well-behaved dogs on a lead are allowed at the festival, but NOT in any of the marquees or where food preparation is taking place (except guide dogs).
The Red Cross will be in attendance to provide medical attention if required and there will also be First Aid trained personnel on site throughout the event.
Toilets and disabled toilet facilities can be found on site at the Food Festival.
